New year - new experiences…

Ahhh… first week of the new year!! And - a week of new experiences! Earlier this week I started my new job as the Tech Operations Manager for Broadwick which, to me, was most definitely a new experience. Those that know me well know that I recently left my last company after deciding that giving 8 years of myself to them I felt that I could no longer contribute to their goals and they no longer were able to grow my skills… An amazingly difficult decision that was months in the making. It’s been 8 years since I started with a new company - now THAT’S like a new experience all over again.

Anyway. With that. I started my first week with Broadwick and right from the get go I’m amazed. This is a small yet rapidly growing company that, at least initially, is dead set on keeping it’s small company - family oriented - relaxed environment as it grows. I sat down with my new boss yesterday to recap the week & afterwards I left with a laundry list of projects that all have critical importance to enabling the company to grow as well as an understanding of where I needed to help take a new-ish-ly developed department out of it’s infant stages and bring it to the masses… THAT was what I was looking for. Finally - a “home” where I could actually contribute.

Sigh. I’m looking forward to Monday. It’s been a looooong time since I’ve said that!!

Other than that - I’m in Wilmington, NC doing Christmas 2.0 for all the folks that were gone over the holidays. Not really sure if this can be considered a “breather” from my first week of the new year but - what the hell - we’ll call it that anyway.

Now I’m going to inhale my 3rd cup of coffee for the day & start things off… *much* more to follow I’m sure!
