Ahhh… Monday… a time for reflecting on the weekend and reading the newspaper and police reports to make sure I’m not in ‘em. So - with coffee in hand and a smile on my face I can officially say that I had a great weekend without news/police involvement. ![]()
Like any good weekend - we gathered as a group (this time including some folks from work!) and enjoyed a bit of Drag Bingo. Although I didn’t win anything… fun was still had. Not a whole lot to note here. I mean. Pffft. It’s just bingo.
Saturday is when the real fun kicked in! I decided it was finally time to buy myself a new toy… I hugged my wallet one last time and made the plunge and purchased the Canon Digital Rebel XT with a large amount of toys to go along with it! woo! It’s absolutely impossible to make that kind of purchase and then wait a week for delivery - thank god for next day shipping! (is it tomorrow yet? ;-))
Ahhh… isn’t it fun to get new toys.
Anyway. After spending a few hours reading anything and everything I could about the Rebel - I finally pried myself away from the computer and got ready for the evening. Brad and I joined up with Matt and Adam for some very nice dinner at The Big Easy in downtown Raleigh. Two enthusiastic thumbs up from me!
Our bellies full - we made our way onto Artspace to see “Poona the Fuck Dog! …and other plays for children”. Oh good lord. I’ll sum this all up by saying that this was absolutely the funniest play I’d seen in a very very long time. It’s here until May 5th - you should definitely check it out!! Unless you’re Ann Coulter - you’ll love this play.
The fun then migrated on to the club where life was a bit of a slow start, however, things really kicked up a few notches ’round about 12:30a when it became packed. How it can go to deserted to packed in 30 minutes is beyond me. :: shrug :: whatever. The music was great that night. The drinks were cold (Matt and Adam can verify!). The people were pretty. Fun was had…
Sigh… I’d like to say that more excitement continued on Sunday. However. No. lol Sunday was me getting up around 7ish to ensure the world was still there - bit of breakfast & coffee & checking email / work email / etc… then wasted away the day. ![]()
