Very early morning… first flight out of RDU… lines at the rental car counter… but we’re here.

Highlights of the day

• RDU’s rebuilt terminal.  Beautiful job RDU!  But… can you please get everything straight on whether it’s terminal A & C or 1 & 2?
• Flawless & uneventful flight.  We even had a yorkie on the plane!  I wish we could travel with Abby…
• Shmoozing at the rental car counter.  I love to shmooze and after a wink wink nudge nudge and talking up the counter agent… we got a free upgrade, xm radio, and a toll pass tossed in. 
• Surprisingly wonderful hotel!  We opted to stay in the ‘burbs due to a compromise in saving some pennies to use towards a rental car to enjoy activities outside of the city.  We didn’t find many photo’s of our hotel, however, the reviews were wonderful.  I have to say… they were spot on.  The Mariott Residence Inn near Woodfield Mall is wonderful!  See the pictures…
• The City.  After check in and a brief lunch we took the train into the city (aprox 1:00p).  I love Chicago in the spring.  Check the pictures!
• Chill evening.  Since we started our day around 5a we opted to take it easy on our first night.  We strolled around the Woodfield mall area, had dinner at Big Bowl, and wasted a little time at Gameworks.  Eventually ending at the hotel to review the days pictures and relax with the TV…  Ah.

So what’s next?  Well that’s a bit up in the air, however, early predictions point to a day wandering the downtown parks and more of the city.  Dinner’s up in the air.  And then probably some clubbing tonight.

I’m in love with my new toy…  My latest lens for my Rebel the Canon 50mm 1.4 USM.  In. Love.  I’m looking forward to kicking it’s tires further on the upcoming trip to Chicago.

I’m addicted to peeps… I *love* to eat them. I do believe I’ll pass on these, though. Not exactly sure what’s going on here.

I want this for home…  work…  everywhere I have a wall!
